Bridge lighting

How to do it

Take a sufficiently old and interesting bridge that is listed as a cultural monument. You also need 600 5-liter jars, 600 candles, and 3 kilometers of strong string. Come up with a pattern that you want to create. It is advisable to choose an axially symmetrical pattern that will allow you to use the reflection of light from the water surface. Calculate the lengths of the individual strings that will carry the jars with candles, so that the individual candles create the contour or area of the pattern.

Call on a sufficient number of willing friends to help you cut the strings and tie them to the jars. Be careful, three will not be enough and it is difficult to organize for thirty. On a designated day, preferably during the Christmas period, announce that the bridge will be lit. Together with your friends, transport 600 prepared jars to the bridge, tie them to the bridge structure, and lower them down.

We light the bridge with a Nativity scene light, one candle at a time. If there was no error in the previous calculation or when cutting the strings to the required length, the pattern you intended will appear and the audience will be amazed. Your original intention, in this case to create an artifact and draw attention to the bridge as an important phenomenon, the value of which we are little aware of in everyday life, will gradually acquire completely different explanations
